INTERNATIONAL SYBASE USER GROUP, BOOTH #901 , SAN DIEGO - May 7, 1996 -- Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ: CPWR) today announced advanced EcoTOOLS support for Sybase System 11. EcoTOOLS, Compuware's industry-leading applications management software, now delivers advanced monitoring and automated application management capabilities for Sybase System 11. These include features and agents that support Open Server applications, complete SQL access between both stored and run-time procedures, enhanced SQL Monitor API agents, enhanced Shared Memory access and agents, among other new capabilities.

Advanced EcoTOOLS Support

Highlighting several important areas for Sybase System 11 users, the advanced EcoTOOLS support will provide:

Complete SQL Access -- EcoTOOLS will give System 11 users reports for currently running SQL statements from stored procedures.
Advanced Agents for SQL Monitor API -- Using the Sybase SQL Monitor API, EcoTOOLS will add and enhance several advanced agents, including I/O performance data, device I/O, stored procedure execution times and many more.
Open Server Applications -- EcoTOOLS will provide a variety of advanced agents for all Open Server applications, including discovery, server process monitoring, status and many more.
Replication Server Agents -- In today's business environment it is important that critical data be replicated across multiple machines to ensure secure access and reliable data integrity. Compuware has extended its agent support for Sybase System 11 to monitor device usage and queue sizes, detect latency between primary and replicate databases and to monitor open transactions.
Access to Statistics via Sybase Shared Memory API -- New advanced support for Sybase System 11 also brings customers powerful new statistics that support information on both data cache and procedure cache. Agents are also extended to gather statistics on all Sybase devices. Expanding support for Sybase Shared Memory means that Sybase administrators will have more information to enhance the performance of and optimize their SQL-based applications.
